At Advanced Academy, the festival of Makar Sankranti was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm by the pre-primary students on 13th January 2026. The main objective of this celebration was to introduce children to Indian culture, festivals, and traditions.

The program began with teachers explaining the significance of Makar Sankranti to the children in simple words. They were told how this festival marks the transition of the Sun into its northward journey (Uttarayan) and symbolizes prosperity and new beginnings.

On this occasion, all the children gathered in the playground with their colorful kites. They learned how sesame seeds, jaggery, and peanuts are traditionally associated with this festival. Some children also recited short poems and sang festive songs, filling the air with warmth and cheer.

The children enhanced the beauty of the event by wearing traditional attire. The importance of the sweetness of Til–Gud was beautifully explained to the children, along with guidance on the safety precautions to be taken while flying kites. At the end of the event, Til–Gud laddoos and popcorn were distributed to all the children, and the students enjoyed the celebration with great excitement and happiness.

This Makar Sankranti celebration truly brought smiles, warmth, and joy to the faces of all the little ones, making it an informative, entertaining, and truly memorable day for everyone at Advanced Academy.
